Fort Pierce affordable-housing project gets preliminary OK, eyes summer groundbreaking

FORT PIERCE —  A Central Florida company wants to build an affordable-rental apartment complex for tenants ages 55 and older.

Wendover Housing Partners, of Altamonte Springs, has proposed Southwick Commons, an 80- to 100-unit complex on 12.8 acres on the west side of Oleander Avenue between Bell Avenue and Tumblin Kling Road.
